Pore-by-pore air flow calculations

Molar flow thought pores with different diameters under 1 psi. First, I calculated molar flow based on porosity histograms extracted from TEM images. And then compared it with the actual experimental data. Here are few examples of this. molar%20flow.ppt

TE membranes air permeability

This is preliminary data for air permeability in track-etched membranes for membranes with different pore radius. For comparison here is a table of the performance characteristics for TE membranes Measured data is of the same order as official TE membranes data.

Permeability and burst pressures data for new wafers

The permeability data is very different for films deposited at room temeperature and 400C.The 400C deposited wafers have much higher permeability and more consistent. w335 – RT w336-RT w338 -400C w340 – 400C Burst Pressures

Air Permeability (w 318, 319, 320, 307) and Updated Burst Pressures

There is some non-uniformity in air permeability based on the position but it is not very clear for wafers 318 and 319. The full wafer measurement in future will make this dependence more obvious.Permeability of w319 is much higher then

Updated Burst Pressures Picture

I only added coordinates on each data point.

Burst Pressures (w187, 189, 310, 312)

These are the graphs with burst pressures for wafers 187, 189, 310, 312 and updated burst pressure bookMembrane_Burst_Book.xls The orange columns in the graphs indicate samples that I used for air permeability tests before.

Air Permeability (w187,189, 302, 304, 310)

Below are results for air permeability tests I took on wafers w302, w304, w187, w189, w310. The X axis is the position of a sample on the wafer (from inside to outside).Samples form wafer 189 passed no air and the

Air Permeability Update

I found a small mistake in my calculations of the air permeability.Corrected data is in the graph below.
